The ultimate bulwark against the power of the elements, a pair of giant dummies hold the building's in place, seemingly threatened by rising water. The duo highlighted represents all the fragility of the building and mankind in the face of nature. Colosses is a metaphor for the irresistible human desire to tame the elements. The excessiveness of the characters sounds like an admission of fragility in the face of the power of the river. A silent struggle, the outcome of which is unknown, is played out in front of a helpless audience, leaving them the choice of the outcome. An installation that questions man's responsibility towards his environment. If today it is no longer conceivable to question global warming and more precisely man's responsibility for this looming catastrophe, never before has ecology been so present in people's consciousness, so attractive for business, for political parties convinced of the need for "Greenwashing" in their programmes. In a world, the recent international mobilization of high school students, outraged to see our leaders consider the ecological emergency as a variable adjustement, gives hope. It is probable and desirable radical transformation. At our level, we want to show that art should not only be beauty but that it must assume its societal and environmental responsibility and not hesitate to place these subjects at the very heart of major events. The question of art is no longer about beauty and poetry but, indeed, about playing its role for the survival of the planet.
